ProEco offers ecology, sustainability, environmental education and exchange opportunities. We are a nonprofit social enterprise supporting rural/ regional/ remote communities — including those un- or under-employed.
Welcoming teachers, students, volunteers keen to participate.
Working together… we CAN make a difference!
We are based at and many of our programs are provided in collaboration with YUNDA eco Stead (a Wildlife Land Trust Sanctuary) in the beautiful Noosa Hinterlands of the Sunshine Coast of Queensland Australia. Native bushland regeneration, wildlife habitat preservation, permaculture and sustainable homesteading… experience meaningful eco projects firsthand.
We are pleased to have hosted over 780 volunteers who have helped:
- plant and maintain nearly 1200 native trees in what was once a cleared, neglected farm
- completed numerous earth works and waterways to reduce soil erosion and increase water retention improving overall soil health
- built over two dozen low-impact nature trails for better access and enjoyment of our sanctuary (many native animals take advantage of these improvements too!)
- thoughtfully repurposed materials to construct several passive tiny houses
- maintain a massive garden supplying near 80% of our fresh vegetables
- planted dozens of edible shrubs and trees bearing fruit
- learned skills, cultures, and customs from our many visitors
- plan for future projects to further enhance our offerings…
